Heute traf mich der sogenannte NorCal Blues mit voller Wucht. Meine Motivation war im Keller, der Trail wirkte eintönig und ich vermisste mein Zuhause. Dazu war es erneut sehr warm, und die meisten Wasserquellen erforderten einen zusätzlichen Umweg.
Als am Nachmittag ein Gewitter aufzog, entschied ich mich, frühzeitig mein Zelt aufzuschlagen. Nach dem kurzen Donnergrollen hätte ich allerdings problemlos weiterlaufen können, doch die Motivation war verschwunden.
Frustriert darüber beendete ich den Tag schließlich früher als geplant.
Immerhin sorgte ein Reh, das mir Gesellschaft leistete, noch für eine kleine Freude.

Today, the so-called NorCal Blues hit me hard. My motivation was low, the trail felt monotonous, and I found myself missing home. On top of that, it was hot once again, and most water sources required an extra detour.
When a thunderstorm rolled in during the afternoon, I decided to pitch my tent early. After the brief rumble of thunder had passed, I could have easily kept hiking, but my motivation was gone.
Frustrated, I called it a day much earlier than planned.
At least I had some company — a deer stopped by and provided a small bright spot in an otherwise uneventful day.
