Tag 4 begann am Refugio Elena und direkt mit dem Aufstieg zum Grand Col Ferret, wo ich die italienisch-schweizerische Grenze überquerte. Am frühen Morgen war ich dort komplett allein – ein Moment, den ich sehr genossen habe.
Anschließend führte mich der Trail hinunter nach La Fouly, wo ich ein paar Dinge im Supermarkt kaufte.
Eigentlich hatte ich mir Champex-Lac als Tagesziel gesetzt. Da ich aber deutlich früher dort ankam, entschied ich mich, weiterzulaufen.
Mein Plan war es nun, bei Alpage de Bovine zu zelten. Da die Unterkunft jedoch geschlossen war, ging es für mich weiter bis zum Col de la Forclaz. Dadurch wurde der Tag deutlich länger als geplant.
Ich war froh, am Hotel Col de la Forclaz einen Campingplatz mit Dusche vorzufinden. Dort ließ ich den langen Wandertag ausklingen.

Day 4 started at Refugio Elena with the climb up to Grand Col Ferret, where I crossed the border from Italy into Switzerland.
Early that morning, I had the pass all to myself – a moment I really enjoyed.
The trail then led me down to La Fouly, where I picked up a few things at the supermarket.
My original plan was to finish the day in Champex-Lac. Since I arrived there much earlier than expected, I decided to keep hiking.
My new plan was to camp at Alpage de Bovine. However, the accommodation was closed, so I continued on to Col de la Forclaz.As a result, the day turned out to be much longer than I had planned.
I was glad to find a campsite with showers at Hotel Col de la Forclaz. That's where I ended another long day on the trail.
